I can't believe its been MONTHS...probably almost a year since my last post but so much as happened since I last felt compelled to make a blogpost...sorry! I'm now pregnant with my 2nd child (At this time last year I had just had a miscarriage and wasn't really feeling like celebrating but this year is so different in so many ways! From being pregnant with a little girl...yes you've read that right...my first daughter (probably my last one since I think pregnant truly takes so much out of my already exhausted system) but I'm beyond excited just to be having a little girl....also I've been working so much on getting Asher into a Non-Public-Funded-School in NYC for kindergarten (its a HUGE PROCESS in NYC) so that's been a headache in and of itself! I finally got his ASD diagnosis last august and we had a neuropsych evaluation done October to December so we are currently working on hopefully getting him a deferral! It feels like a job in and of itself but I truly feel like he would be such a great fit at one of these schools and could really succeed and thrive! I see him changing so much everyday!
Asher's current obsessions are: The 3 little pigs, Goldlilocks and the 3 bears, and Billy Goat Gruff! He can find and follow anything on YouTube and loves the barefoot books (he follows along with them while they read in his books). I'm so proud of how far he's come but his speech needs a big boost which is where having a prompt speech therapist really comes in hand but we currently don't have one (that's why the non-public-funded-schools will be a huge help) and they offer help w/social skills that all children w/special needs could use! Oh yeah he's also very into all things little people, cars, and making food...esp his little pretend kitchen! I'm truly hoping next year I'll be better w/getting online to do blogposts but if you know me I probably won't be...I'll definitely try (at least until April) that's when I'm due! Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays no matter what you celebrate to you and yours! Lets hope that 2022 can be a healthier more vibrant year full of more possibilities! I think my word for 2022 is going to be resilience! What's yours?
